"...For the first time in 52 years, the Giants are world champions... and you can't help but think, that this group is celebrating.... for the Say Hey Kid, for Will The Thrill, celebrating for number 25, and celebrating for all you Giants fans, wherever you are... Giants fans...this party is just getting started!"

In May, the
San Francisco Giants announced they'd be commemorating their first World Series championship by creating a World Champions Walk, which will "encircle all four plazas of AT&T Park and will feature granite markers depicting epic moments from throughout the 52-year wait for a World Series title."

The walk also includes
4x12-inch brick pavers, providing fans with an opportunity to commemorate their own memories from the Giants journey. I first found out about the bricks on television when they were advertising them during the games. I really wanted one, so I looked it up right away to see how much it would cost. It was expensive, so I decided not to get it. That didn't stop me from looking it up again every couple of games.

After a few weeks went by, the ones at the main gate (
Willie Mays Plaza) had sold out completely and when I had looked just recently, all the other ones sold out as well. Knowing that it was something I couldn't get anymore, I hadn't really thought about it for a while, but as you might know, my birthday was just a few days ago. In August, our family has three birthdays, so we usually pick a date in the month and celebrate all three birthdays at one time. Tonight was the night.

At the end of the evening, we opened presents, and my gift from J and the family was a certificate for one of the World Championship Walk bricks located in Willie Mays Plaza. I had no idea that J ordered it on a presale she got from one of our season ticketholder friends. She knew I wanted it before I even knew it existed! That's so awesome!

I seriously could not believe that they got that for me. I am truly blessed with an incredible wife and family. They are the best!

The brick will be installed after the season is over, but my problem is that I haven't decided what I want it to say yet. I have a few ideas, but I'm curious if anyone else has any good suggestions. I have three lines of 18 characters each, and the brick can be mocked up on this website:
Imagine Your Giants Brick

This was the perfect gift! It combines these things I feel so passionately about and it's something I couldn't afford on my own. As a native San Franciscan and proud Giants fan, I'm very excited about this. I can't wait to finally see it at the park next year!
