Inspired by last week’s continental clean and press, I decided to find some other odd barbell lifts. One of the ones I found is called a Zercher lift, named after its creator, Ed Zercher, an old time strongman from St. Louis. He could deadlift 536 lbs. at a weight of 155.

Every year, my company runs a trivia night that raises funds for the AIDS Emergency Fund and the Breast Cancer Emergency Fund. The AEF/BCEF provides emergency financial assistance to local Bay Area women and men to cover basic human needs. It is one of the coolest events that I’ve ever seen.
