Done A Snow Watch On Twin Peaks

SnowWatch.png
As a native San Franciscan, I’ve never seen snow in my hometown before.  The last time the City had snow was in 1976, before I was born.  At the beginning of the week, the news reported that a cold storm could be headed our way with a possibility of snow.

Taken A Yoga Class

A few weeks ago, J, L, A, and I all signed up for a yoga class at Hanuman Center in the Castro.  We scheduled this near the end of February because I thought a lot of the new year’s crowd would thin out after a few months.

Ran Up The Lyon Street Steps

LyonStreetSteps.png
The city I live in is famous for its hills, and some of these hills have steps, really steep steps.  A year and a half ago, on our first anniversary, J and I climbed up the Filbert Street Steps on the way to the top of Coit Tower.  Another well known set of steps are the Lyon Street steps, and luckily, for me, they are within walking distance from work.

Splashed In Rain Puddles For Fun

SplashedInRainPuddles.png
One of the benefits of having a project like this is that I can use it as an excuse to act like a kid again and experience something that I never got to when I was younger.  J couldn’t believe I had never done this before.  What kind of a kid never plays in the rain and makes a mess of puddles?

Surprised My Wife With A Four Course Meal

VDayDinner.png
Happy Valentine’s Day!  I love my wife, even more than the television program Lost and the San Francisco Giants.  Although the naysayers will call Valentine’s Day a Hallmark holiday, I don’t care.  It’s an excuse to treat each other extra special, and if you want to, you can make it really fun.

Golden Gate Park is awesome, and it’s amazing how much of it I haven’t seen.  A few years ago, J and I went to the New Orleans Botanical Garden in City Park, but still I had never been to our own Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum.  I made a plan to come here and check it out in the afternoon.

Waited Tables At SereniTea House

sereniteawaiter.png
Before I got out of college, I held a few jobs in retail (thrift stores in the Mission, Pier 39 tourist trap, the Apple Store), but one thing that I always avoided was food service.  It’s not that the idea of waiting tables was beneath me, I just never wanted to be responsible for someone else’s meals.

Hosted A Fondue Party

The French word “fondue” is the past participle of the verb “fondre”, which means “to melt”.  Although the first known fondue was created in 1699 (called “Käss mit Wein zu kochen” or “to cook cheese with wine”), it became a Swiss national dish in the 1930’s as a way for the Swiss cheese industry to increase cheese consumption.
