Splashed In Rain Puddles For Fun

One of the benefits of having a project like this is that I can use it as an excuse to act like a kid again and experience something that I never got to when I was younger. J couldn’t believe I had never done this before. What kind of a kid never plays in the rain and makes a mess of puddles? I’ll just say I was the kind of kid that didn’t like getting dirty, cold, and wet. I didn’t realize how fun it would actually be.
This week, the weather has been rainy in San Francisco. Usually I could let this put a damper on my plans, but I thought the best way to deal with crappy weather is to embrace it and do something that I can only do when it’s like this.
I asked Jeremiah to help me film today after our workout. We went out to the back of the Planet Granite parking lot and found the biggest puddle we could find. Here’s a video of me jumping into and running through it for the first time.
This was a lot of fun. I normally would shy away from getting rained on or stepping in puddles, but this was enjoyable. Trying to make as big a splash as I could felt amazing.
In the end, I would recommend doing this to anyone, regardless of age. It taught me to embrace less than ideal conditions. Did I get cold? Did I get wet? Did I get dirty? Yes, yes, and yes. Did I have a ridiculously great time? Also, yes.
