Eaten The Cookies-And-Cream Cookie And Milk From Anthony's Cookies

“Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.”
--Barbara Jones
Few foods rival milk and cookies as far as comfort foods go. I love it. You love it. Your mom loves it. Santa loves it.
Today, I had jury duty, and during a long day of the jury selection process, I got picked to be on the jury. Cookies and milk sounded really good after that. Anthony’s Cookies is a small cookie shop in the Mission (Valencia and 25th Avenue). The cookies-and-cream cookie and milk is #65 on the 7x7 Big Eat List, so I decided to give them a try.

Anthony’s has several types of cookies available each day. Certain cookie flavors are rotated on a daily basis. The cookies-and-cream cookies are available everyday.

I picked up a dozen assorted cookies and some milk and brought them home.

I ended up getting cookies-and-cream, peanut butter, cranberry oatmeal, chocolate chip, double chocolate chip, cinnamon spice, walnut chip, and toffee chip. It smelled delicious.

I also picked up a quart of Strauss organic milk.

The cookies-and-cream cookie was unique. It had chocolate Oreo-type crumbles in it.

The cookie had a crisp to the outside, but it was also chewy. The combination makes for a wonderful cookie that has a texture that matches its taste. I really enjoyed this cookie. As a kid, I used to love cookies and cream ice cream and the cookie definitely reminds me of that. I guess you could say that they combined two things I consider comfort food.
The only downside I would say is that I expected the cookie to be bigger (they’re just normal-sized cookies), but I would recommend giving Anthony’s a try. The price is a bit high, but reasonable ($11/dozen) and they make some pretty good cookies.
