Knocking another item off the
7x7 Big Eat List, I went to Humphry Slocombe (Harrison St. @ 24th) today after work and picked up a pint of Secret Breakfast.  This may sound strange, but Humphry Slocombe is an ice cream parlor and Secret Breakfast is the name of one of their flavors.

They specialize is unusual flavors like foie gras and Olde Hebrew Ale.  They had a chalkboard with a bunch of the flavors they had today.

The Secret Breakfast flavor is an ice cream infused with bourbon with pieces of corn flakes mixed into it.  I am pretty sure it’s one flavor that they almost always have on hand.

This ice cream was delicious.  I liked it a lot.  It’s light and refreshing, but the subtle flavor of the bourbon with the little sweet, crunchy pieces of corn flakes are a brilliant combination.  I After eating it, I remember thinking, “Why would anyone go to Bi-Rite Creamery for ice cream?”

Seriously, if you have not had ice cream from Humphry Slocombe, go get some, especially now that the weather is so nice this week.  The Secret Breakfast is delicious.
