The morning bun at
Tartine Bakery is number 7 on the 7x7 Big Eat List. The bakery is very close to my house. In fact, it's on the same street, about a mile away, yet I had never gone there because the lines are always very long.

I picked up my carpool partner Becca and headed there this morning. We decided if there was a long line, we wouldn't go, but unbelievably there was no line. In fact, there were even tables available.

They make a lot of really sweet things at Tartine, like delicious-looking cakes and eclairs.

I ordered my morning bun and a coffee.

This was very good. I really liked the morning bun. It was the perfect amount of sweetness, and the texture was really nice. The cinnamon was delicious, and it complimented the other flavors. I found out the difference between a morning bun and a regular cinnamon bun is that the morning bun is made with croissant dough. I really enjoyed this texture difference because it's flaky and chewy at the same time.

Tartine Bakery is a little on the pricey side, but they have a cookbook and the recipe for the morning bun is posted online. I definitely want to try to make them sometime.

This was a nice experience. I would go back again when there isn't a line, so not on the weekend...
