Gone To WonderCon

WonderCon is an annual comic book, scifi, and movie convention held in our area every year. It’s been held here since 1987. It’s celebrating it’s 25th year!
I guessed that this would be a nerd-fest, and I was right. There were plenty of people dressed up, pseudo-celebrities signing autographs, and tons and tons of comic books.
The core part of WonderCon is retailers selling back-issues of comic books and action figures.
Here are a few Stan Lee signed Spider-man comics.
A bunch of Star Trek related paraphernalia was for sale.
One booth had wall to wall to wall t-shirts.
Who doesn’t love Angry Birds plush toys?
Like I said, there were tons of people dressed up for the event.
There were a few celebrities signing autographs, including: Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), and Larry Thomas (the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld).
Here’s a view of the floor from above.
WonderCon... what can I say? It’s probably really fun for people that are really into toys and comic books, especially collectors. The one aspect of the conference I thought was cool was the Artists Alley, where they have both established and up and coming artists selling, showing and signing their work.
It was a little overcrowded for my tastes. It was kind of tough to move around in some aisles, and I often felt I was stuck waiting for the person in front of me to move. I felt it was definitely a different experience for me although I probably won’t go next year.
