Held My Baby Niece

If you know me well, you might know how much I love my nephew Micah. He's the coolest and funniest three year old I've ever met. Earlier this year, I found out he was going to have a little sister, and I was beyond excited.
Her name is Rebekah. She wasn't due for another week and a half or so, but she was born this morning, on the Fourth of July! After giving her parents most of the day to rest (and smoking some ribs on the BBQ grill), J and I got to go to the hospital to see the newest addition to our family.

When it was my turn to hold her, I was so happy. Her eyes were closed almost the entire time, but she made all these little faces and noises when she was moving around. She was very cute.

When visiting hours ended, Micah said, "Can we take her home?" We replied, "Tomorrow, buddy."

Being an uncle is one of the great joys in my life. Micah makes it very easy because I love his personality, but I'm looking forward to caring for and spoiling Rebekah just as much.
